# Plans & AI Credits

How AI Builder plans and AI credits work — the 7-day free trial, hosting plans, what uses credits, monthly and additional credits, and the shared credit balance.

AI Builder runs on **Hostinger hosting plans** and is metered in **AI credits**. The plan decides how many websites you can have and whether you can publish; credits pay for the AI work in chat.

## Free trial

Without a hosting plan you can build one project free for **7 days** with a starter batch of AI credits — no card needed. Trial projects can be built and previewed but not published, and a trial store can't take payments. When the trial ends, buy a plan to keep the project and publish it.

## Hosting plans

AI Builder is included with web, cloud, and agency hosting plans. If you already have hosting, AI Builder is part of it; if you don't, buying an AI Builder plan includes hosting.

Plans differ in:

* **Number of websites** — when you reach the limit, upgrade to create more.
* **AI credits** — each plan comes with an included batch of AI credits.
* **Extras** — such as a free domain for the first year and email.

## What uses AI credits

Credits aren't a flat price per message. A small copy change costs far less than generating a full web app, and each reply shows how many credits it used. Restoring an earlier version doesn't refund the credits used to make later changes.

> **Note:** Stopping a reply partway still uses the credits for the work already done.

## Monthly and additional credits

Your balance can include:

* **Monthly AI credits** — from an AI credit plan. They renew on your billing date; unused monthly credits roll over for one more month.
* **Additional AI credits** — bought one-off with **Get AI credits** when you run out. They're used after monthly credits and expire 3 months after purchase.
* **Gifted credits** — included with hosting plans, the free trial, and referrals (**Invite a friend**).

The balance and its breakdown are in the credits menu in the editor header.

## Shared balance

AI Builder uses Hostinger's unified AI credits — one balance shared with other Hostinger AI products, such as AI features in [Reach](/reach/overview.md). Credits bought for one can be spent in the others.
