# Publishing & Domains

Publishing AI Builder projects on Hostinger — one-click publish, the free subdomain, custom domains, automatic SSL and CDN, daily backups, and recovering deleted sites.

AI Builder projects are hosted on Hostinger. **Publish** takes the current version of your project live in one click — there's no server to set up, build to configure, or files to upload.

## Publishing

Projects stay private drafts until the first publish. Publishing needs a hosting plan; trial projects can't be published.

* **Publish** builds the project and puts it live. It can take a few minutes.
* **Publish changes** updates the live site after further edits. Unsaved visual or code edits must be saved first.
* The menu shows when the site was last published.
* Unresolved preview errors block publishing — fix them first.

## Free subdomain

Every project gets a free address on **hostingersite.com**, shown as the **Temporary domain**. The name is based on your first prompt where possible (for example `dog-grooming-crm-483920`); otherwise it's random. The subdomain name can't be changed.

Search engines aren't invited to index the free subdomain — connect a custom domain for that. See [SEO](/ai-builder/seo.md).

## Custom domains

**Connect domain** opens hPanel, where you can buy a new domain or connect one you already own. Many plans include a free domain for the first year.

Domains work the same as for any Hostinger website — see [Connecting a Domain](/getting-started/connecting-a-domain.md) and [Domain Pointing](/domains/pointing.md). DNS changes can take up to 24 hours to take effect everywhere.

## SSL and CDN

Published sites get **SSL** automatically, on both the free subdomain and custom domains, served over HTTPS. Static assets are delivered through Hostinger's **CDN**. There's nothing to configure.

## Backups

Published sites are backed up **daily** — code, database, and settings. Restoring a backup is done by Hostinger Support on request. For changes you made yourself, use [Restore this version](/ai-builder/preview-and-versions.md#undo-and-restore) in chat.

## Deleting and recovering

Delete a project from hPanel. Deleted projects can be recovered by Hostinger Support within **30 days**; after that they're removed permanently.

## Access to files

AI Builder sites don't have FTP, SFTP, SSH, or File Manager access. Work with the code through the [Code view](/ai-builder/code-editor-and-export.md), or export it to host elsewhere.
