# SEO

SEO in AI Builder — server-side rendering, titles and descriptions, social previews, structured data, sitemap, robots.txt and llms.txt, and where sites get indexed.

AI Builder sets up the technical side of SEO for you, and you can adjust anything by asking in chat — "write a meta description for the pricing page", "don't index the thank-you page".

## Server-side rendering

New projects use **server-side rendering (SSR)**: each page is delivered as complete HTML, so search engines and AI crawlers see the full content without running JavaScript. Older single-page projects can be upgraded to the SSR structure.

## What's set per page

* **Title and meta description** — written for each page.
* **Canonical URL** — to avoid duplicate-content issues.
* **Social previews** — Open Graph and X (Twitter) cards, with an AI-generated share image.
* **Favicon** — generated for new projects.
* **Structured data** — JSON-LD for the homepage and for content such as products and articles.
* **Language** — the page's `lang` attribute matches the site's language; multilingual sites can get `hreflang` alternates.
* **noindex** — keep a specific page out of search results.

## Generated files

| File            | What it does                                                                                              |

| **sitemap.xml** | Lists your pages, including dynamic ones such as blog posts and products, and updates as content changes  |
| **robots.txt**  | Tells crawlers what they may access (see below)                                                           |
| **llms.txt**    | A summary of your content for AI tools, added when the site has collections such as a blog, docs, or shop |

These files are managed by AI Builder and can't be edited directly. Use **noindex** on pages you want left out.

Beyond classic SEO, AI Builder prepares sites to be cited by AI assistants: server-rendered content, structured data, `llms.txt`, and robots rules that let AI answer engines read the site.
