# Forwarders, Aliases & Auto-Replies

Route and shape your domain's mail without extra mailboxes. All four tools live in the sidebar under your email domain, and can also be created from a mailbox's row actions on the [Mailboxes](/emails/mailboxes.md) page.

How many forwarders and aliases you get depends on your plan — free plans include one of each; paid plans include more. See **Mailboxes** → **View limits** for your numbers.

## Forwarders

Redirect incoming mail from one address to another — including addresses on other domains.

1. Open **Forwarders** under your email domain.
2. Pick the source mailbox and the destination address.
3. Save.

A forwarder requires an active mailbox to forward from. Editing a forwarder's source mailbox affects all forwarders created for that mailbox.

## Aliases

An alias is a secondary address for an existing mailbox — you can send and receive as the alias, and everything lands in the primary inbox. Aliases share the mailbox's storage.

1. Open **Email Alias** under your email domain.
2. Pick the mailbox and the alias address.
3. Save.

Use aliases for role addresses (`billing@`, `support@`) that one person handles, without paying for extra mailboxes.

## Catch-all

A catch-all receives mail sent to **any** address on your domain that doesn't exist — typos, guessed addresses, retired mailboxes.

1. Open **Catch-all email** under your email domain.
2. Choose the existing mailbox that should receive stray mail.
3. Save.

> **Tip:** Catch-alls collect a lot of spam by nature. Point one at a dedicated mailbox you review occasionally, not your primary inbox.

## Automatic replies

Out-of-office and similar autoresponders:

1. Open **Automatic Reply** under your email domain.
2. Pick the mailbox, write a subject and body — plain text or HTML with a preview.
3. Start immediately or on a start date; end on a date or **Never end**.
4. Save.

Each sender receives the automatic reply once after they email you, not on every message.
