Mailboxes

Create and manage Hostinger Email mailboxes in hPanel, including passwords, mailbox seats, storage quotas, app passwords, and access to Webmail.

Create and manage email accounts under Emails → your domain → Mailboxes. The header shows your plan, expiry date, remaining mailbox seats, and a View limits link with the authoritative quotas for your plan.

Create a mailbox

  1. Open Mailboxes and click to create a mailbox.

  2. Choose the address — up to 50 characters before the @, using letters, numbers, dots, dashes, and underscores.

  3. Set a password or generate one.

  4. Create — then Open inbox to jump straight into Webmail.

Password requirements: 8–50 characters with at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one number, and one symbol; Latin characters only, no spaces. Passwords found in known breach databases are rejected.

Mailbox seats

Paid plans are priced per mailbox:

  • Buy more mailboxes from the Mailboxes page whenever you need them — there's no per-domain cap on paid plans.

  • Remove mailboxes you no longer pay for (you can't go below the number currently in use).

  • Free plans include a set number of mailboxes based on your hosting plan; trials include one. To add more, upgrade to a paid plan first.

Storage

Each mailbox has a storage quota set by your plan. The Mailboxes table shows a per-mailbox usage bar that turns yellow at 80% and red at 90%.

On paid plans you can buy extra mailbox storage as an add-on and allocate it to one or more mailboxes as needed, up to 100 GB per mailbox. Add-on storage is pro-rated to your plan's renewal date and non-refundable.

Managing a mailbox

Each row in the Mailboxes table offers:

  • Webmail — open the inbox

  • Change password

  • App passwords — see below

  • Create alias / forwarder / catch-all / automatic reply — see Forwarders, Aliases & Auto-Replies

  • Disable 2FA — turn off two-factor authentication for a mailbox (2FA itself is enabled in Webmail)

  • Delete — permanently removes the mailbox and its email data

Mailbox status shows Active or Suspended, with tooltips distinguishing whether access, receiving, or sending is suspended.

App passwords

App passwords let third-party apps connect to a mailbox without its real password:

  1. Open App passwords for the mailbox.

  2. Name the password and create it.

  3. Copy it immediately — it's shown only once.

Each app password grants full mailbox access and can be revoked individually at any time. There's a per-mailbox limit on how many you can have.

Webmail

Webmail lives at mail.hostinger.com — or one click from the Mailboxes table, with automatic sign-in. Message filters, signatures, and mailbox-level 2FA are configured inside Webmail.
