# Campaigns

Build, schedule, and measure one-off email campaigns in Hostinger Reach — the four-step wizard, campaign statuses, send-time optimization, and performance reporting.

A campaign is a single email sent to a chosen audience at a chosen time — a newsletter, an announcement, a promotion. For email that sends itself in response to an event, use [automations](/reach/automations.md) instead.

Find them under **Campaigns**.

## Building a campaign

The wizard has four steps, and you can leave and come back — an unfinished campaign stays a **Draft**.

| Step | What you choose |
| -------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Template** | The email itself — pick a [template](/reach/templates.md), start from AI, or upload HTML |
| **Campaign details** | Subject line, preheader, sender name and address, plus an internal title |
| **Recipients** | Your whole audience, or one or more [segments](/reach/segments.md) |
| **Summary** | Review, then send now or schedule |

The subject line can be generated by AI from the template you picked, which needs a paid plan or AI credits. You can send a test email to yourself from the template step, and preview how the email looks in an inbox from the details step.

## Statuses

| Status | Meaning |
| ------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Draft** | Still being built; not sent |
| **Scheduled** | Queued for a future time — can be unscheduled back to draft |
| **Sending** | Currently going out |
| **Sent** | Finished |
| **Failed** | Stopped before or during sending |

## Scheduling and send-time optimization

Choose **Send now** or **Schedule send** on the summary step. Scheduled times use your computer's local timezone, shown next to the time you pick.

**Smart sending** is a paid-plan option that staggers delivery instead of sending everything at once: Reach picks a send time per contact based on when that person has opened mail before. A campaign that's spreading its send shows as **Sending** until the last contact is done, and it can't be cancelled once started.

## When a campaign fails

A failed campaign explains why, and most causes are fixable:

| Reason shown | What to do |
| ----------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Monthly send or recipient limit hit | Wait for the reset or upgrade — see **Settings** → **Your plan** |
| No recipients found | The audience or segment is empty; add contacts and reschedule |
| Problem with your domain | Check [Sending Domain](/reach/sending-domain.md) |
| Sender mailbox suspended | Check your [sender details](/reach/settings.md#sender-details) |
| Sending stopped, high drop rate | Too many addresses rejected early; clean your list before retrying |

To protect your reputation, larger campaigns go out in a small first batch. If too much of that batch is rejected, Reach stops the campaign rather than burning your domain on a bad list.

## Reporting

Open a sent campaign for its results. The headline figures are:

* **Open rate** — how many recipients opened it
* **Click rate** — how many clicked a link
* **CTOR** — clicks as a share of opens, showing whether the content landed with people who actually read it
* **Unsubscribe rate** — how many opted out
* **Bounce rate** — how many addresses rejected the message permanently

Below them are four tabs:

| Tab | Shows |
| ----------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Email details** | The email as it was sent |
| **Click map** | Every link, with how many clicks each got |
| **Recipients** | Per-person delivery outcome, filterable by bounce, dropped, or unsubscribed |
| **Devices** | Which devices and operating systems opened it |

> **Note:** Opens and device data depend on the recipient's email client loading images, so treat them as indicative rather than exact. Privacy features in some clients inflate opens and obscure devices.
