# Forms

Create signup forms in Hostinger Reach to collect contacts, choose the fields and consent options, style them, and embed them on your website.

Forms collect contacts from your website into your Reach [audience](/reach/contacts.md). A submission creates or updates a contact, and can start an [automation](/reach/automations.md).

Find them under **Forms**.

## Form types

**Full page/embedded** forms sit inside a page on your site or open from their own link. Pop-up forms are coming soon.

To create a form, choose what it offers visitors — a newsletter, a PDF or eBook, a discount code, a checklist, webinar access, or no incentive — and Reach prefills a prompt for it. Edit the prompt if you like, then generate the form.

## Building a form

The editor works like the [email editor](/reach/templates.md), with a sidebar for fields and styling.

* **Fields** — email is always required. Add first name, last name, phone number, and any [custom field](/reach/contacts.md#custom-fields) you've defined, and mark each as **Required** if you need it.
* **GDPR consent** — an optional consent checkbox for jurisdictions that require explicit opt-in.
* **After submit** — either show a thank-you message or redirect to a URL of your own.
* **Styling** — background (or transparent), body text, input text, button, button text, and border colors, plus any images in the form, so it matches the page it sits on.

When you're done, **Save and activate** saves your changes and puts the form live in one step. To save without activating, open the button's menu and choose **Save only**.

On the free plan, forms carry Reach branding; removing it needs a paid plan.

## Statuses

| Status     | Meaning                                  |
| ---------- | ---------------------------------------- |
| **Draft** | Not published; not collecting |
| **Active** | Live and collecting submissions |
| **Paused** | Published previously, not collecting now |

A live form opens read-only, so its fields can't shift under visitors mid-submission. Choosing to edit pauses it first, and it stops collecting until you activate it again — with **Save and activate** in the editor, or **Activate form** on the publish screen.

Pause, activate, duplicate, or delete a form from its menu in the forms list.

## Publishing

The publish screen offers several routes, depending on where your site lives:

| Option                   | How it works                                                    |
| ------------------------ | --------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **AI Builder (Manual)** | Connect your Hostinger site and place the form from the builder |
| **AI Builder (Agentic)** | Copy a prompt that adds the form to your site's AI chat |
| **WordPress** | Connect your WordPress site and place the form from the plugin |
| **Embed** | Paste two snippets into any site's HTML |
| **Share** | Use the form's own public URL, with nothing to embed |

Manual and Agentic are the two modes of Hostinger AI Builder — see [Integrations](/reach/integrations.md#sites-and-stores).

Embedding takes a script tag, once per page, plus a placeholder where the form should appear:

```html
<script src="https://cdn-reach.hostinger.com/js/embed.js"></script>
<div data-reach-form="YOUR_FORM_ID"></div>
```

The publish screen shows both snippets with your form's ID already filled in.

## What happens on submission

A submission creates the contact. If the address is already in your audience, it fills in any details that are missing without overwriting what's there.

If [double opt-in](/reach/settings.md#subscribe-settings) is on, the new contact is set to **Waiting for opt-in** and receives a confirmation email; it isn't mailable until confirmed. With double opt-in off, the contact is **Subscribed** immediately.

To send a welcome email, or anything else in response, pair the form with a form-submission [automation](/reach/automations.md).
