# Templates & Editor

Design emails in Hostinger Reach — create templates with AI or from the gallery, edit sections, set template styles, personalize content, and run the spam checker.

A template is a reusable email design. Campaigns and [automations](/reach/automations.md) both send templates, and the same editor builds [forms](/reach/forms.md).

Find them under **Templates**.

## Creating a template

* **Describe it** — write what the email should say and Reach generates the copy, layout, and imagery, styled from your [brand details](/reach/settings.md#brand-details).
* **Browse templates** — pick a ready-made design, filtered by category. Use it as is with **Use without changes**, or turn on **Apply my brand details** to restyle it with your logo, colors, and fonts and optionally describe other changes. Applying brand details uses AI credits.
* **Upload HTML** — bring your own markup. Requires a paid plan.

## The editor

An email is a stack of **sections** — a header, some text, an image, a button, a footer. Select a section to edit it, drag to reorder, or insert a new one from **Add section**: text, buttons, images, video, headings, and layout or spacing blocks. You can also describe a section and let AI build it, which uses AI credits.

You can also edit by asking: describe a change in the chat and Reach applies it to the template.

Editing a template that campaign drafts or automations already use changes all of them. Reach warns you first, so you can choose **Edit anyway** or **Create a duplicate instead**.

### Template styles

**Template styles** set the look of the whole email at once, rather than section by section: heading and body fonts, text and link colors, page background, and button appearance including color, text color, border, and corner radius. **Apply brand details styles** resets them to your [brand details](/reach/settings.md#brand-details).

### Personalization

Insert a contact's details into the text and each recipient sees their own values:

* Built-in: first name, last name, email address, phone number
* Any [custom field](/reach/contacts.md#custom-fields) you've defined

Personalization tokens take a fallback for contacts with that field empty, so an email opens with "Hi there" rather than "Hi ,". The built-in name tokens come with sensible fallbacks already.

Personalization is included in higher Reach plans. On a plan without it, choosing **Personalization** shows an upgrade prompt instead. For what each tier includes, see the [Reach product page](https://www.hostinger.com/reach).

### Dynamic cart link

Emails used by an abandoned-cart [automation](/reach/automations.md) can include a link back to the shopper's own cart. Set a fallback URL for recipients whose cart can't be resolved, so the button always goes somewhere useful.

### HTML editing

The code editor gives direct access to the email's HTML. It requires a paid plan.

## Spam checker

The **Spam checker** reviews a finished email and groups its findings by severity, from things that could be better to things needing major work — covering the content, structure, and choices that tend to land mail in spam. Run it before sending. Apply suggestions one by one with **Fix selected**, or all at once with **Apply all fixes**. It requires a paid plan or AI credits.

## Reach branding

Emails and forms on the free plan include a small Reach signature. Removing it requires a paid plan.

## Testing before you send

Send a test email to yourself from a campaign's template step, and use the inbox preview to check the subject line, preheader, and sender name as they'll appear in a crowded inbox.

> **Note:** Test emails don't include the preheader yet, so your mailbox may show other preview text for a test. The real campaign is sent with the preheader you set — check it in the inbox preview.
