# AI Theme

Generate a complete WordPress site from a short description with Hostinger AI Website Builder for WordPress and the Hostinger AI theme, then customize colors, fonts, and pages.

**Hostinger AI Website Builder for WordPress** creates a complete WordPress site from a short description of your idea — page structure, design, colors, fonts, images, and content — in about a minute. The result is built on the **Hostinger AI theme** and edited with standard WordPress tools: the block editor (Gutenberg) or Elementor.

It's a WordPress theme and setup flow, separate from Hostinger's standalone [Website Builder](https://www.hostinger.com/website-builder).

## Availability

The builder is the default way to set up WordPress on shared and cloud hosting plans. See [WordPress hosting plans](https://www.hostinger.com/wordpress-hosting) for what each plan includes.

## Create a site with AI

### When adding a new website

1. In hPanel, go to **Websites** → **Create website** and choose **WordPress**.
2. Set the admin language, email, and password.
3. Choose **Create a website with AI (recommended)**. To install WordPress without a design, choose **Start with a blank WordPress site** instead.
4. Describe your site and follow the steps below.
5. Choose a domain, or click **Use a temporary domain** to connect one later.
6. When the installation finishes, click **WP Admin**.

### On an existing WordPress site

1. In the WordPress admin, open **Hostinger** → **Hub**.
2. In the **Set up your website** checklist, find **Create site with AI** and click **Create new site with AI**.

## How the builder works

1. **Describe your site.** Write what the site is for. Click **Enhance with AI** to have AI expand a short description.
2. **Choose an editor.** Pick **Gutenberg** or **Elementor**. This is the editor you'll use to edit the site afterwards.
3. **Choose the site language.** Every language WordPress supports is available, and date and time formats follow it.
4. **Confirm the details.** Hostinger Agent asks for your brand name and suggests a page structure — add, remove, rename, or reorder pages.
5. **Add business details (optional).** Email, phone, address, social profiles, and a WhatsApp button fill the contact sections and footer. Skip any you don't need.
6. **Wait while the site is generated.** This takes about a minute.

## Customize the design

After generation, the customization panel lets you adjust the design before opening WordPress:

| **Colors** | Under **Palettes**, choose from AI-generated light and dark palettes that meet accessibility contrast standards. Under **Custom**, set your own **Brand**, **Section**, and **Background** colors as hex codes |
| **Fonts**  | Under **Fonts**, choose from AI-suggested font pairings. Under **Custom**, pick your own heading font and body font                                                                                            |
| **Logo**   | Upload a PNG or JPG, up to 5 MB                                                                                                                                                                                |

Preview the site in **Desktop**, **Tablet**, and **Mobile** views, then click **Finish customization** → **Setup in WP admin**.

### Try another version

Click **Create** to generate a new version of the site without losing the current one. You can keep up to five versions, and browse, restore, or delete them.

## Edit the site afterwards

The generated site is a regular WordPress site. Edit pages in the block editor or Elementor — whichever you chose — and change site-wide styles in **Appearance** → **Editor**.

## Limitations

* **The editor is fixed at setup.** Switching between Gutenberg and Elementor later means generating the site again.
* **No design references.** The builder works from your description; it doesn't copy an existing site or screenshot.
* **Existing plugins only.** The builder installs well-known plugins your site needs, such as WooCommerce for a store, but doesn't create custom plugins.

## Troubleshooting

### Create site with AI is missing from the Hub checklist

The step only appears on WordPress sites hosted with Hostinger. Check that the [Hostinger Hub](/wordpress/hostinger-plugins/easy-onboarding.md) plugin is installed and active under **Plugins**, then open **Hostinger** → **Hub** again.

### The logo won't upload

Use a PNG or JPG file no larger than 5 MB.

### Text is hard to read after changing colors

AI-generated palettes are checked for accessible contrast, but colors you set under **Custom** aren't. Pick a palette under **Palettes**, or choose custom colors with more contrast between text and background.

### You don't like the generated site

Click **Create** to generate a new version — your current one is kept. Switch back to an earlier version at any time, up to five versions in total.

### You want to switch between Gutenberg and Elementor

The editor is chosen when the site is generated. Generate the site again and pick the other editor.

No. **Create** adds a new version alongside the current one. You can switch back to an earlier version at any time, up to five versions in total.

<summary>Can I move a site built with AI to another host?</summary>

Yes. The site is standard WordPress and keeps working on any host. The Hostinger AI tools are only available while the site is hosted with Hostinger.

Yes. Switch themes from **Appearance** → **Themes** like any WordPress site. Your posts, pages, and media stay, but the generated design is replaced. See [WordPress Themes](/wordpress/themes.md).
